Samsung smart watch and phone compatibility

Galaxy Wearable is the core for everything related to your Smart watch. However, this app is only available on your phone, which means you need to connect your watch and phone together. Samsung watches are only compatible with certain Android and iOS phones - make sure your phone is compatible before you try setting up your watch.
Note: Your device may not be compatible depending on the region, carrier, or model.
Since it’s a Samsung product, a Galaxy phone will have the most compatibility options. Just be sure to download the Galaxy Wearable app from the Google Play Store.
- Galaxy Watch Ultra: Phones with Android 11 or later.
- Galaxy Watch7: Phones with Android 11 or later.
- Galaxy Fit3: Phones with Android 10 or above.
- Galaxy WatchFE: Phones with Android 10 or above.
- Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic: Phones with Android 10.0 and RAM 2.0 GB or higher are supported.
- Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro: Phones with Android 8.0 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic: Phones with Android 6.0 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Galaxy Watch, Watch Active, Watch Active2, and Watch3: Phones with Android 5.0 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Gear Sport, Gear S2 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier, Gear S3 Classic, Gear Fit2, Gear Fit2 Pro: Phones with Android 4.3 - Android 13 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
Note: These models are not compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones released with Android 14. This includes the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy A25, and Galaxy A15.
Non-Samsung phones running Android can also connect to Galaxy Watch and Gear.
Note: The Samsung Health Monitor app is currently only available on Samsung Galaxy devices.
The Android device without Google Mobile Services (Google Play, Pay, Maps, Assistant and Youtube Music) is not compatible, Android Go is not compatible*.
- Galaxy Watch Ultra: Phones with Android 11 and higher.
- Galaxy Watch7: Phones with Android 11 and higher.
- Galaxy Fit3: Phones with Android 10 or higher.
- Galaxy WatchFE: Phones with Android 10 or higher.
- Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic: Phones with Android 8.0 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro: Phones with Android 8.0 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic: Phones with Android 6.0 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Watch Active, and Galaxy Watch Active2: Phones with Android 6.0 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Gear Live, Gear S2, Gear Fit2, Gear Fit2 Pro, Gear S3, and Gear Sport: Phones with Android 4.4 and RAM 1.5 GB or higher are supported.
- Gear, Gear 2, Gear S, and Gear Fit: These watches are not supported on non-Samsung Android devices.
If you have an iPhone, there are some Samsung smart watches that are compatible with certain versions of iOS. Newer Samsung watches with Wear OS are not compatible with iOS. If you have a compatible watch, you will need to download Galaxy Wearable for your device from the App Store.
Compatible devices
- Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, and Galaxy Watch Active2: iPhones (iPhone5 or later) that have iOS 9 and above are compatible.
- Gear Live, Gear S2, Gear Fit 2, Gear S3, Gear Sport, and Gear Fit2 Pro: iPhones (iPhone5 or later) that have iOS 9 and above are compatible.
- Galaxy Fit: iPhone 7 or later running iOS 10 and above are compatible.
Incompatible devices
- Galaxy Watch4, Watch5, Watch6, Watch7, Watch Ultra, and Watch FE: These watches rely on Google Play services which is not supported on iOS.
- Galaxy Fit3: This watch is not compatible with iOS.
- Gear 1, Gear 2, Gear S, and Gear Fit: These watches are not supported on iOS.
Note: iPad and iPod touch are not supported. For iPhone 6S and 6S+ running iOS 10 and later, the connection may be unstable.
